Privacy Policy

How Mutti Building Contractors collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use this website or contact us.

Who we are

This website is run by Mutti Building Contractors Ltd (company number 11036627), registered office 56 Turnage Road, Dagenham RM8 1QS. We are the “data controller” for the personal information described here.

Questions about your data? Email info@muttibc.co.uk or call 07735 292 240.

What we collect

  • When you contact us through the website form: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), and whatever you write in your message.
  • When you call, email or message us: the details you share with us.
  • If we quote for or carry out work for you: your address and the details needed to quote, plan, invoice and guarantee the work.
  • When you browse the site: basic, anonymous visit statistics such as which pages are viewed and the type of device and browser used.

How and why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote (this is a step you have asked us to take before entering a contract).
  • To carry out and guarantee work we have agreed to do for you (to perform our contract with you).
  • To keep the business, tax and warranty records we are required to keep by law.
  • To keep the website secure and working, including filtering out spam messages sent through the contact form (our legitimate interests). Spam checks run automatically on our own website and do not involve sending your message to anyone else.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing or add you to mailing lists.

Who we share it with

Only with the services we need to run the website and the business:

  • our website hosting company and our email provider, which store the website and our emails;
  • Automattic (the company behind Jetpack and WordPress.com), which provides our anonymous visit statistics and website security tools;
  • Google, because the website loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to download them, which shares your IP address with Google;
  • our accountant, and HMRC where the law requires it, for customers we invoice.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards required by UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that did not lead to work: deleted after 2 years.
  • Messages our spam filter holds as suspected spam: deleted after 90 days.
  • Records for customers we have worked for: kept for 6 years after the job (for tax and guarantee purposes), then deleted.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress sets essential cookies only for people who log in to manage the website. Our visit statistics are anonymous and are used only to see how the site is used.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete your information, where we do not need to keep it by law;
  • stop or limit how we use it, or object to us using it;
  • send it to you or another organisation in a common format.

Just contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month, and it is free.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
